MPSC International is a Queensland-based business, based on the knowledge and international experience of Mike Shapland MBE and his work in, and with, governments over 40 years. The business utilises Mike’s qualifications, and expertise gained during nearly 20 years exclusively in the disaster and emergency management sector of Australia’s most disaster-impacted state.
His experience comes from running Queensland’s State Disaster Coordination Centre, managing the Chemical Hazards Emergency Management unit, overseeing the delivery of emergency management and SES volunteer services to 15 local governments and 70% of Queensland’s population, initiating the ‘Get Ready, Queensland’ program, and as Executive Director for Assurance and Evaluation in the Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management.
Internationally, he brings the experience from working for Middle-Eastern governments, with the United Nations, in Europe and the UK. On the practical side, he has over 10 years service as an State Emergency Service volunteer with the Brisbane SES Unit.
This experience enables MPSC International to deliver comprehensive, practical, all-hazards disaster and emergency management advice, support and training – from strategy to tactics – to those with accountabilities for managing emergencies.
