So, we’re going to the Simpson. In two Land Rovers. Well, we’d better look for another…!
This one came from auction, transported up from New South Wales. On the surface it looked ok – nice paint job, canopy a little worn perhaps!
But on the inside it showed evidence of a harder life. Serious dings; a box of bits, seats unbolted and all akimbo, the canopy definitely not waterproof.
A scrappy bit of paper in a door pocket showed a road test in 2016. Since then 89 kilometers in 8 years. Life as an unloved pool vehicle, I guess.

A deeper look unpacked instruments that had rattled to bits, and a 34-year-old wiring system that had seen better days.
It’s said that Land Rovers turn drivers into mechanics. Looks like this one will live up to expectations!
But resurrecting it is all for good causes. Children’s charities through Onside and the Smith Family. Veterans, through Mates4Mates and Combat Stress.
So please share the story and contribute, if you can, through our GoFundMe site.
